Lederhosen and Dirndls!

My experience of Munich in one word: beer. Beer gardens, beer halls, giant mugs of beer. For some reason people in Munich (a totally modern city) haven't given up on traditional ways of dress - lederhosen and dirndls. And it's not a kitschy touristy thing. This is how people dress. Mind you not all of them, not even most of them, but the few people who did certainly added to the atmosphere. It was fun to take part in the joyous tradition of drinking in beer halls. There were big bands playing, we learned a traditional drinking song, and ate enormous pretzels.

As with every European city, Munich had its share of beautiful buildings and statues. And for some reason, the people of Munich took it upon themselves to turn one of the monuments (of some guy - I have no idea who he is) into a Michael Jackson memorial. So strange to see in the middle of Munich... But hey why not!?
